Suboxone and Suboxone Film are prescribed for the treatment of opiate withdrawal during drug detox. Opiate withdrawal can be life-threatening if not monitored by medical professionals. Some people use Suboxone for non-medical purposes and may become addicted if abuse is frequent. Suboxone is an opioid, so the dependencies created from chronic Suboxone abuse can cause serious withdrawal when use is abruptly ceased. If you are addicted, and plan to stop using Suboxone, you should consult a detox facility or drug counselor for assistance.
