Can you buy Suboxone on the street?

Are people selling Suboxone on the street? If so, why? I thought Suboxone was for opiate addiction treatment...

Suboxone is a prescription medication used to treat opiate withdrawal symptoms, including moderate acute to severe pain and addictive cravings. Many people abuse Suboxone to satisfy their opiate addictions. You should not take Suboxone if you are on antipsychotic medication. You should not take Suboxone unless it is prescribed for you by a physician. It is considered drug abuse if you use Suboxone for non-medical reasons.

Suboxone is legally available by prescription only.

Opiate Addiction

Suboxone is often prescribed to help recovering opioid addicts manage painful withdrawal symptoms and addictive cravings. Many people are also becoming addicted to Suboxone as recreational use becomes more common.

Opiate Abuse

Many drug addicts are using Suboxone as a recreational drug in high doses in order to get "high".

Opiate Detox

Suboxone is prescribed to help addicts manage opiate withdrawal during detox. Suboxone is also an opioid, so chronic abuse may create dependencies that cause harmful withdrawal when use is stopped.
