Most colleges and universities have official policies related to alcohol consumption on campus and in student housing.

Alcohol Abuse

Some colleges and universities use harm-reduction techniques to help cut off-campus incidents associated with alcohol abuse.

A "wet campus" refers to a college campus that does not strictly enforce against alcohol consumption on campus grounds. While federal and state alcohol laws still apply, such as the 21 year old age restriction, students of age are allowed to drink alcohol on campus and in their dorms. This is in contrast to a "dry campus" in which alcohol is not allowed on the grounds whatsoever.
