There's not much research surrounding the effects of "bath salts" and their active compounds, synthetic cathinones. No one REALLY knows if "bath salts" were the sole reason why people became "zombie-like". All we know is that synthetic cathinones, like MDPV and Mephedrone, can cause major psychological instabilities in high doses. Enough of the stuff can send you off into an uncontrollable frenzy.
