Prescription Drugs

If released to the public, Iomanezil would be available by prescription only.

Alcohol Addiction

In an effort to fight alcoholism, studies explore "stay sober" medication.

Iomanezil is a benzodiazepine derivative and antagonist.

Iomezenil is benzodine. It reduces levels of GABA in the brain, which is like the opposite of "makes you feel better". The history of the drug is that it was used to CAUSE schizophrenia (a mental illness).

I don't know what iomazenil is used for now, but since I take GABA Soothe to ADD GABA to my diet (to avoid depression and anxiety) I can only imagine that there isn't much therapeutic use for something that interferes with GABA effectiveness.
