Can I trust pharmacies in other countries?

I am curious to know whether I will be safe or not going to a pharmacy when travelling abroad. Can I expect the same levels of certification and expertise?

Prescription Drugs

Some foreign pharmacies have the ability to prescribe drugs to patients in need.

First off, you can not tell if a drug is safe or not just by looking at it. Fake drugs look exactly like the real-deal and may have health risks due to dangerous additives.

Having said that, I would think that if you are buying Rx's from a recognized pharmacies chain, you can be confident that you are getting what is prescribed. Rx's you buy in a foreign country most likely were made in the U.S. or by a U.S. company.

Buying on the internet . . . not so much. You have no idea where the drug is coming from, how it was made, if it is in fact the right strength or even know if it is what it says it is.
