Does LSD increase creativity?

The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, and even the creators of South Park have praised LSD for its ability to alter perception and instill creative thinking. Is this true?

Drug Abuse

Some artists abuse mind-altering drugs like LSD in an effort to boost creativity.

Synthetic Drugs

LSD is a semisynthetic psychedelic drug.

Lysergic acid diethylamide, "LSD" or "Acid", is known for its mind-altering, hallucinogenic properties.

Taking a bunch of Acid will not increase your creativity in terms of ability. I can't draw or sing or keep a beat or anything, and I don't think LSD is suddenly going to make me the next Bob Dylan. However, LSD is known for its ability to alter your perception and intuition. I guess I could see how an artist might use it as means to access new ideas.

LSD will NOT give you something that isn't already there. It will definitely alter your perception of 'Reality' but whether that altered perception is positive or end up being negative, is a 'crap-shoot'. AND it is not something that can be undone. It can leave you with a permanent psychosis.
